Leeds Henna Artist – My Creative Journey as a Young Artist

My name is Hafsa Bashir, I am 13 years old, and I am currently studying at Leeds City Academy in Leeds. Even though I am still at school, I have discovered a deep love for art, especially henna design, and I am excited to grow my skills and share my creativity with others.

   From a young age

I have always loved drawing. Whether it’s sketching patterns in my notebook during breaks or practicing detailed designs at home, art has always been a big part of my life. Over time, I became especially interested in henna because of its beauty, cultural meaning, and the way it allows me to create intricate designs on skin. Becoming a Leeds Henna Artist is not just something I enjoy—it’s something I truly feel passionate about.

Henna art is more than just decoration. It is a tradition that brings people together during celebrations such as weddings, Eid, and other special occasions. As a Leeds Henna Artist, I enjoy being part of these meaningful moments. I love creating unique designs that reflect each person’s personality, whether they prefer simple floral patterns or more detailed and traditional styles.

Balancing school and my passion for henna can sometimes be challenging, but I always make time to practice and improve. Being a student at Leeds City Academy has helped me stay disciplined and motivated. I believe that working hard at school while developing my artistic skills will help me build a strong future. My teachers and classmates have been very supportive, and that encourages me to keep going.

One of the things I enjoy most about being a Leeds Henna Artist is experimenting with new ideas. I often look at different patterns and try to create my own versions.
